I finished my PhD in Asian elephant behaviour in early 2025, investigating how elephants use smell to make choices on what to eat. I am a member of the Applied Behavioural Ecology and Conservation Laboratory (ABEC), with a field site in Nepal where I conduct observations and behavioural experiments with captive Asian elephants. My interests and previous publications encompass conservation, urban ecology and wildlife trade.
I have previously worked on a variety of topics including the effect of urbanisation birdsong and breeding and the bird trade in Hong Kong. In 2019 I held a position at The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama where I led a behavioural and physiological project to investigate bat sleep.
